One technique that is used is HIGHLIGHTS *HIGHLIGHTS are going to be great for the client that is looking for more brightness and contrast while still keeping their natural depth. It can be as subtle or dramatic as you would like! Difference between FOCAL POINT and a FULL you ask? The Full is going to be LIGHTNESS throughout the entire head. The Focal focuses on a particular area of the head. Another technique that is used is called a BA·LAY·AGE (ˌBALĀˈYÄZH/noun) A BALAYAGE is a technique for highlighting the hair in which the dye and/or lightener is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect.
